Press Release: Lost Boys Interactive Returns to Independent, Founder-Led Ownership
Madison, WI 12/09/25
Lost Boys Interactive and Embracer Group have reached a mutual agreement for Lost Boys Interactive to return to independent, founder-led ownership.
Over the past several years, Lost Boys and Embracer partnered on memorable projects and shared valuable experiences across the industry. As this chapter comes to a close, Lost Boys is entering a new era, defined by focused execution, collaborative partnerships, and a sharpened creative vision.
Returning to independence allows Lost Boys Interactive to move with clarity and purpose, building on the core strengths that have shaped the studio since its inception. Both Embracer and Lost Boys agree that this transition positions each organization to pursue the strategies and opportunities that best align with their long-term goals.
“This moment represents a return to who we are,” said Shaun Nivens, CEO and Co-Founder of Lost Boys Interactive. “We are grateful for the collaborations and experiences of the past several years. We are especially grateful to the deep support and foundation afforded us by our friends at Embracer during these difficult times in the industry. As we step into independence again, our focus is simple: do great work with great partners, support our team, and build the kind of studio we set out to create from day one. This transition gives us the clarity and direction to move forward with purpose.”
“Our team has always been the core of Lost Boys,” said Mark Stefanowicz, COO and Co-Founder. “As we step into this next chapter, we’re committed to creating exceptional work while staying true to the values that built this studio from the beginning.”
Along with Mark and Shaun as COO and CEO respectively, Lost Boys Interactive’s leadership team will include Vicki Resendez as Vice President and Studio Head, overseeing studio execution and production; Jessica Grube as Vice President of Operations, leading business operations and organizational scaling; co-founder Chase Jones as Chief Creative Officer, guiding the studio’s creative vision and quality; and Ryan Woodland, former Studio Technical Director at ZeniMax Online Studios, joining the team as Chief Technology Officer to lead technical strategy and engineering excellence.
